Gorleston Guitar Lessons
Hello, I am Ross Stephen, a full time guitar tutor for over 10 years and based in Gorleston-On-Sea in Norfolk.
Teaching guitar is my love and passion! I feel truly grateful to be able to have this as my life’s vocation. I have been teaching guitar full time since 2008 having seen so many students from so many different backgrounds, all with individual needs and musical ambitions. People form the ages of 4 to 85, all with the same love for playing music and a desire to know more about the guitar.
Some students enjoy a strictly structured way of learning such as the graded system. I have taught students to excel from the beginning grades all the way through to grade 8. This path of learning involves studying many different genres of music leading to an optional exam, recognised at the higher levels with UCAS points.
Other students wish to learn in a less structured manner, mainly focusing on the music that they love. I have taught music from so many different acts, from Abba to ZZ Top. Anything from Billie Eilish, the Rolling Stones, Ed Sheeran, Metallica, The Beatles, Olivia Rodrigio. If you enjoy the music then I want to teach it to you! Pop, Rock, Reggae, metal, Jazz …whatever it is that excites you!
Music theory is a subject that I regularly get asked about to. When the time is right for you we can learn about scales, chord construction, keys, improvisation and the modes as well as many more theoretical subjects. Music theory as applied for the guitar is a large and fantastically beautiful and often difficult subject, but one worth learning.
The wonderful thing about private lessons is that they are adapted for you.
